Boysenberry bee

Tried to post something interesting and timely but all I saw in the news today was depressing - the latest Notre Dame/Obama stuff .... the wildfires in Santa Barbara .... Elizabeth Edwards' book/interview - so instead here's a photo I took today (had to snap 10 actual photos to come up with one that wasn't blurry :) of a bee on a flower of one of the blooming boysenberry bushes in the yard ....

Beautiful, Crystal.
What kind of camera do you have? This is not the fist lovely picture that you have posted.

Hi Mike,

Thanks :) After my mom died I used some of the money she left to buy the camera. It was an older version of this one, that back then cost about $300. I couldn't use a camera before because I couldn't focus it with my bad eyes, but this one focuses for you. It comes with a usb cable that lets you load the pictures on to the computer.

Crystal, you tempt me intellectually and now about eating.

Back in the 40's when I was young we LOVED bosenberries. Actually better than strawberries. But where have they gone. Can't find here. Jack

Jack,

I think they're a California thing, at least that's what the Wikipedia entry says. My grandparents used to grow them and so we planted them here too.
